Draft a Project Scoping Document
The document that aligns stakeholders before launch: scope, out-of-scope, risks, and milestones.
Draft the project scoping document for [project name] at [company]. Project objective: [objective]. Sponsor: [sponsor]. Team: [composition]. Budget: [budget]. Target deadline: [deadline]. Trigger for the project: [context]. Structure: context and problem to solve (3 lines), measurable objective, included scope, explicitly EXCLUDED scope (as detailed as the included part to prevent scope creep), deliverables with acceptance criteria, dated milestones, roles and responsibilities (RACI: who decides, who executes, who is consulted, who is informed), identified risks with mitigation plans for each ([suspected risks]), assumptions, and dependencies. Formulate each section so that any disagreement surfaces NOW, during review, rather than mid-project. End with the 3 critical questions the steering committee must resolve before launch.
